Tirupati Laddu controversy, Jagan Mohan Reddy hits back at Chandrababu Naidu's allegations, writes a letter to PM Modi

New Delhi. The Tirupati Laddu controversy has created a big uproar across the country. The controversy escalated after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's claim in which he accused Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam of mixing animal fat in Laddu Prasadam. This controversy has taken a political turn, where Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy are face to face. YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and registered his protest on this matter. He has accused Chandrababu Naidu of tarnishing the sanctity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. In the letter, he has appealed to PM Modi to reprimand Naidu for his false claims and bring out the truth.

Chandrababu Naidu accused of lying

Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote in his letter, “I want to draw your attention to the outrageous incidents happening in Andhra Pradesh. An attempt is being made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to cause irreparable damage to the sanctity, integrity and prestige of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Devotees of Lord Venkateswara are spread not only in India but all over the world and if this delicate situation is not handled correctly, this lie can prove to be quite harmful.”

He further said, “Chandrababu Naidu has spread misinformation about the ghee used for prasad in Tirumala temple. He claimed that the ghee being used in the laddus is adulterated and animal fat is being mixed in it. This allegation is not only an attack on the sanctity of Tirupati laddus but also hurts the sentiments of crores of Hindu devotees.”

What is the whole matter?

The controversy started when Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was mixed in the ghee used in Tirupati Laddu. He also released a lab report to prove his point, after which the matter started gaining momentum. This allegation created turmoil in the state politics and sharp allegations and counter-allegations started between the two leaders.
