On the petition of the IAS officer's wife, Justice Rajarshi Bhardwaj of Calcutta High Court canceled the bail of the accused and ordered an inquiry into the misbehavior of the police officers. The victim's wife of the IAS officer has said in the petition that despite serious allegations, the Lake police station did not investigate the CCTV footage of the incident from 4 pm to 8 pm. He has also accused the police of not even conducting a medical examination and he himself had to undergo a medical examination in a government hospital.
