New Delhi. Before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, security forces have achieved great success in the anti-Naxal campaign. Security forces have killed four Naxalites in an encounter in Naxal-hit Gadchiroli of the state. Some weapons have also been recovered from the slain Naxalites. There is also news of a soldier being injured in this encounter. The injured soldier has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra is adjacent to the border of Chhattisgarh, that is why Naxal activities keep happening here. Security forces had received information that some Naxalites were gathered in Bhamragarh tehsil of the district. As soon as the security forces reached the forest in search of the Naxalites, the Naxalites started firing. In response, the security forces also opened fire in which four Naxalites were killed.

It is being told that intermittent firing is still going on. According to information received from sources, anti-Naxal special squad C-60 has also been sent to the encounter site. Earlier last week, rewarded Naxalite couple Asin Rajaram Kumar and his wife Anju Sulya Jale had surrendered in Gadchiroli. A reward of Rs 8 lakh was declared on this Naxal couple. Let us tell you that recently the country's Home Minister Amit Shah had said that the anti-Naxal campaign is in its final stages. He has fixed the target of March 2026 to completely eliminate Naxalism.

As part of the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign, many prominent Naxalites have been killed and some have also been arrested. The economic back of Naxal operations has also been broken. NIA is being helped for this. Let us tell you that the date of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand has been announced. In Maharashtra, voting will be held in one phase on November 20, while in Jharkhand, voting will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20. The results of both the states will be declared on 23 November.
