This low pressure area is moving in the north-western direction. According to the Meteorological Department, on 22nd October i.e. today this low pressure area will turn into a cyclone. This marine cyclone has been named Dana. The Meteorological Department has warned that Cyclone Dana will cross the coast between Odisha and West Bengal on October 23. The Meteorological Department has also warned of wind blowing at a speed of 100 to 120 kilometers per hour and very heavy rain due to cyclone Dana.

Even before Cyclone Dana, several small cyclones had occurred in the last one month. Due to this, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North-Eastern states received heavy rains till the first week of October. Marine Cyclone Dana is considered to be more dangerous than all the recent cyclones. Due to the impact of Cyclone Dana, apart from Odisha and West Bengal, there may be heavy rain in many other states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, the Meteorological Department says that after October 25, cold will start increasing in the northern states of the country. Right now it is getting cold at night in the states of North India. This is because of the effect of La Nina. Under La Nina effect, the temperature of sea surface and land remains the same. On the contrary, due to El Nino effect, the sea surface temperature is lower than the land.
