New Delhi. Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination papers today for the by-election on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. During this, many people including Priyanka's mother Sonia Gandhi, her brother and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, her husband Robert Vadra and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge were present. Priyanka's son also reached there to support his mother. Before reaching the nomination venue, Priyanka participated in a road show in which a large number of Congress supporters were present.

Priyanka was seen greeting people in an open car during the road show. During this period, Rahul Gandhi also stayed with him. Before reaching the nomination venue, Priyanka also addressed the people during the road show. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, it has been 35 years that I have been campaigning for various elections. This is the first time that I am campaigning for myself and seeking your support. Let us tell you that this time Rahul Gandhi had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Wayanad in Kerala and Rae Bareli seat in UP. Rahul won the elections on both the seats after which he left the Wayanad seat.

Rahul had promised the people of Wayanad that even if I leave the seat, whatever future decision the party takes will be in the public interest. Since then, speculations started being made that Rahul will now declare Priyanka as the candidate from his seat. This happened as per expectations. To control the damage, Rahul announced that Priyanka Gandhi will contest from Wayanad seat. Along with Congress, Priyanka's credibility is also at stake on this seat because Priyanka is contesting elections for the first time in so many years. Congress does not want to let go of this won seat and Priyanka also understands the importance of Wayanad, that is why she agreed to contest the elections.
