New Delhi. Political activities have intensified regarding the assembly elections in Jharkhand. Amidst the election environment, major political parties have started sharpening their strategies. The seat sharing formula has been decided and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has released the list of candidates. On Wednesday, JMM released its second list, in which Mahua Manjhi has been made the candidate from Ranchi. Mahua Manjhi is a Rajya Sabha MP and JMM has decided to field her in the assembly elections.
Introduction of Mahua Manjhi
Mahua Manjhi is a well-known litterateur of Jharkhand. She has also been active in social work and her name holds a special place in the field of social service. Mahua Manjhi, considered close to Hemant Soren's family, has made her mark in literature and social service. She has the distinction of becoming a Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and is the first woman member of the party to hold this position. Apart from this, she has also been the head of Jharkhand Women Commission.

Contested assembly elections in 2014 and 2019
Mahua Manjhi has tried her luck in the assembly elections before also. She had contested elections from Ranchi in 2014 and 2019, but had to face defeat both times. However, she has been associated with JMM for a long time and has a strong stature within the party. This time again she has been fielded from Ranchi and the party is hopeful that she will win this time.
JMM has fielded candidates on 36 seats so far
JMM released its second list on Wednesday and declared candidates for a total of 36 seats. Earlier on Tuesday night, the party had released the first list of 35 candidates. Elections will be held in Jharkhand in two phases—the first phase will be held on November 13 and the second on November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23, in which the political future of Jharkhand will be decided.

As the elections approach, the political atmosphere has started heating up. All the parties have fielded their candidates and now the political temperature is about to rise. The contest in Ranchi has become interesting with the candidature of Mahua Manjhi.
