Know who is Kedar Dighe, whom Shiv Sena UBT has fielded from Thane against Eknath Shinde?

New Delhi. Uddhav Thackeray's party Shiv Sena (UBT) released the first list of its candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024 on Wednesday, October 23. This list includes names of candidates for a total of 65 seats. The most discussed is the Kopri-Panchpakhari seat of Thane, from where the party has made Kedar Dighe the candidate. This seat is considered a hot seat because the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is contesting from here.

Who is Kedar Dighe?

Kedar Dighe is a relative of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe. Anand Dighe is considered the political guru of Eknath Shinde. When Chief Minister Shinde's Shiv Sena released its list of candidates on Tuesday, October 22, it read, “With the blessings of Hindu Hriday Samrat Respected Shiv Sena Chief Bala Saheb Thackeray and Respected Anand Dighe Saheb, Shiv Sena has announced the list of candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024.” Releases the list.”

It was under the guidance of Anand Dighe that Eknath Shinde strengthened his political hold in the undivided Shiv Sena. Dighe, who was considered close to Bal Thackeray, was given the responsibility of strengthening the party in Thane, which he did well. Now Uddhav Thackeray, playing a big bet, has fielded Anand Dighe's relative Kedar Dighe against CM Shinde.

Important points of Shiv Sena (UBT) list

Many prominent names are included in the first list of Shiv Sena (UBT). Uddhav Thackeray's son, Aditya Thackeray has been made the candidate from Worli. Whereas, Rajan Vichare has got the ticket from Thane. Varun Sardesai has been pitted against Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of Baba Siddiqui, from Vandra East.

A total of 14 sitting MLAs have been given tickets again in the first list. Apart from this, names like Sameer Desai, Mahesh Sawant, Sameer Desai and Raju Shinde have been fielded for the first time. The party has also announced its candidates on 13 seats in Mumbai, which points towards an important contest for Shiv Sena (UBT) in the upcoming elections.
