Vadodara. Ratan Tata is no more. Ratan Tata had passed away recently. Ratan Tata was an industrialist who always dreamed of taking India forward in the future. One such dream of Ratan Tata also included manufacturing aircraft in India. Now this dream of Ratan Tata is going to be fulfilled. The plant of Tata Advanced Systems Limited i.e. TASL in Vadodara, Gujarat is going to start from today. This plant of TASL is going to be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. He will also be accompanied by Spain's PM Pedro Sanchez. C295 aircraft will be manufactured at TASL's plant.

For the first time after 7 decades of independence, manufacturing of a large aircraft is starting in India. Tata Group and Airbus will jointly manufacture C-295 aircraft at TASL's plant. 40 C-295 aircraft will be manufactured at Tata Group's plant. This is a multipurpose military transport aircraft. C-295 can carry goods weighing up to 9 tonnes. 70 soldiers or 49 paratroopers can also go in it. This aircraft runs on 2 turboprop engines. C-295 is counted among the most modern military transport aircraft in the world. The first C-295 aircraft at TASL's plant will be ready by September 2026. The 40th aircraft will be built here by August 2031. All C-295 aircraft manufactured at TASL plant will be supplied to the Indian Air Force. Apart from these, 16 more C-295 aircraft will be manufactured in Seville, Spain by Airbus Industries and handed over to the Indian Air Force.

The foundation stone of TASL plant, where the work of manufacturing C-295 aircraft is going to start from today, was laid by PM Modi on 30 October 2022. Government sector defense companies Bharat Electronics i.e. BEL and Bharat Dynamics are also going to cooperate in making C-295 aircraft. For the first time such a large military transport aircraft is being manufactured in India. Which is also going to give new heights to PM Modi's mantra of Make in India. If TASL and Airbus continue the work of manufacturing more such aircraft in the future, there will be a possibility of their export from India.
