Terrorist attack in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist killed


New Delhi. An Indian Army vehicle was attacked by terrorists in the Akhnoor area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning, in which a terrorist was killed. Security forces also recovered weapons along with the body of the slain terrorist. Jammu ADGP Anand Jain reached the spot to review the operation.

According to sources, Army's BMP 2 tank (Infantry Combat Vehicle) has been taken to the encounter site to eliminate the terrorists. The incident occurred around 7 am in Battal area, when three terrorists fired several rounds at an army vehicle. Army officials said that after this attack, security forces immediately surrounded the entire area and started a search operation.

Retaliatory action with rocket launcher

According to sources, the security forces attacked the hiding place of the terrorists with rocket launchers, after which there was no reaction from the terrorists. Officials say that security forces are preparing for the final attack and a large-scale search operation is going on in the area.

Terrorists' actions in Afravat range also

Officials said that Rashtriya Rifles Unit personnel and civilian porters were also attacked by the terrorists while they were moving towards Nagin Post in Afravat Range. This incident happened near Botapathri area, about 6 kilometers from Gulmarg. According to an official, the terrorists attacked the army vehicle in Jogwan area at around 7 am, following which security forces launched a massive search operation.

NSG is not involved in the operation

Defense Ministry spokesperson in Jammu, Lieut. Colonel Sunil Bharatwal informed that NSG is not involved in the ongoing operation in Akhnoor. At present, the focus of the security forces is on capturing two terrorists, the search for whom is going on.
