There are Muslim organizations and many political parties against the Uniform Civil Code. All of them oppose any kind of interference in personal law. Whereas, the Directive Principles of State Policy of the Constitution of India also states that the government will work to implement the Uniform Civil Code. Based on this, BJP has been continuously talking about implementing UCC in its election manifesto. Now PM Modi has made it clear by making an important statement on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel that even though BJP does not have majority in the Lok Sabha, his government is not lagging behind implementing One Nation One Election and One Nation One Civil Code.
