CJI D.Y. Chandrachud said that I hope, you know how much trolling I have received. I am probably the most trolled judge in the entire system. On this I will say only one poetry – 'Opposition enhances my personality, I respect my enemies a lot'. Taking a jibe at the trollers, the CJI said that I am wondering what will happen from Monday because all the people trolling me will become unemployed. Everyone present there laughed out loud at this statement of CJI. Addressing his farewell ceremony, Chief Justice Chandrachud said, thank you very much for such a great honour. I would like to wholeheartedly thank the Supreme Court Bar Association for organizing this event.

Justice Chandrachud told about a lesson he learned from his father and said that my father had bought this small flat in Pune. I asked him, why are you buying a flat in Pune? When are we going to go and live there? That said, I know I would never go there to live. He said, I don't even know how long I will be with you. But do one thing, maintain this flat till the last day of your tenure as a judge. The CJI said, when I asked him the reason for this, he said, if you ever feel that your moral integrity or your intellectual integrity is being compromised then you know that you have a roof over your head. Never allow yourself to be compromised as a lawyer or judge because you have no position of your own.

CJI said, I just want to tell you that some of the changes we have made are in line with my strong belief that sunlight is the best disinfectant. I know that in many ways I have exposed my personal life to the public, and when you expose your personal life to the public, you expose yourself to criticism, especially with today's social media. In the era, but my shoulders are big enough to accept all the criticism we have faced.
