Sukhbir Singh Badal resigns from the post of President of Shiromani Akali Dal


New Delhi. Former Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has resigned from the post of party president. Party spokesperson Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema shared this information through a social media post. With this, the way has been cleared for the election of the new president. Dr. Cheema wrote in his post, SAD President Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal submitted his resignation to the party's working committee today to pave the way for the election of a new president. He thanked all the leaders and workers of the party for reposing faith in his leadership and extending their wholehearted support and cooperation during his tenure.

Cheema said that SAD Working Committee Chairman S. Balwinder S Bhundar has called an emergency meeting of the party's working committee on November 18 at 12 noon at the party headquarters office in Chandigarh. In this meeting, the committee will consider the resignation given by Sukhbir Singh Badal and further outline will be decided. It is noteworthy that the elections for the post of President, office bearers and working committee of Shiromani Akali Dal are to be held on December 14, 2024.

On the other hand, on the resignation of Sukhbir Badal, former SAD MP Prem Singh Chandumajra said that we were demanding that Badal should resign. Today SAD has become weak, our youth are in jail, farmers are crying in the markets, nothing is going well. Our share of Chandigarh is being given to Haryana. The condition of Punjab is now bad and the people here want a regional party like Akali Dal to be strong, today after his resignation the way has been opened for new leadership which will make Akali Dal strong again.
