Supreme Court orders closure of schools up to 12th in Delhi-NCR, online classes will run
New Delhi. In view of the continuously dangerous level of air pollution in Delhi and NCR for the last several days, the Supreme Court has given a big order. The apex court has asked all NCR states including Delhi to stop physical classes in all schools up to class 12 and conduct online classes. The court said that the lungs of class 10th and 12th students cannot be separated from other students, hence this should be implemented immediately. The court also said that the restrictions of Group 4 will not be lifted without our permission.
The Supreme Court directed all NCR states to strictly implement Group 4 restrictions. The court has also directed to immediately form teams to monitor it. Now the next hearing of this case will be on 22nd November. The top court said that even if the AQI comes down to 300, the Group 4 restrictions to control pollution should not be lifted without our further orders. Let us tell you that Delhi Government has implemented Grape-4 restrictions today itself. Before this, Grape-3 was applicable under which all classes except classes 10th and 12th were running online.
At the same time, the apex court has also shown seriousness in the matter of stubble burning and has asked the central government to take help from ISRO. The court has given instructions to obtain data through satellites. The court said that on the basis of this data, figures will be made available to the states and immediate action will be taken on that basis. Let us tell you that earlier during the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court had expressed strong displeasure over the burning of firecrackers in Delhi. The court had said that despite the ban on firecrackers every year, why is this order not strictly followed.
