Indian Coast Guard showed bravery in the sea, chased away Pakistani ship in 2 hours, saved lives of seven fishermen.
New Delhi. In a daring operation, the Indian Coast Guard on November 17 rescued seven Indian fishermen from a Pakistani Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) vessel. The incident took place near the international maritime border between India and Pakistan, where a thrilling chase between the ships of the two countries lasted for two hours.
Campaign started with distress call
At around 3.30 pm, Indian Coast Guard ship ICG Agrim received an emergency call from fishing boat Kalabhairav. The boat was fishing near the No-Fishing Zone (NFZ) when it was rammed by Pakistani ship PMS Nusrat. The Pakistani ship was trying to forcibly arrest the Indian fishermen and take them to their border.
Indian Coast Guard wins the cat-mouse game
After receiving information from Kalabhairav, ICG advance reached the spot at full speed and faced the Pakistani ship. The chase between the two ships continued in the sea for about two hours. Ultimately, after threats by the Indian Coast Guard and strategic negotiations, the Pakistani ship released the Indian fishermen. However, during this time the Kalabhairav boat broke and sank, but all the fishermen were rescued safely.
