Election Commission should investigate impartially, Vinod Tawde presented his side, told why he went to hotel
New Delhi. A new controversy started today, a day before voting in Maharashtra Assembly elections. In fact, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers accused BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde of distributing the money. After which the Election Commission has registered an FIR against Tawde and BJP candidate from Nalasopara Assembly Rajan Naik for violation of code of conduct. Vinod Tawde, while presenting his side, said that the truth will come out after a fair investigation by the Election Commission.

BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde said that a meeting of workers of Nalasopara assembly constituency was going on in the hotel. In this meeting, I had gone there to tell 12 things like the model code of conduct for the voting day, how the voting machines will be sealed and if any objection has to be raised, how it has to be lodged. Then the workers of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi felt that we were distributing money there. Let the Election Commission and the police investigate. I have CCTV footage. I have been in the party for 40 years, Appa Thakur and Kshitij know me, the entire party knows me, still I believe that the Election Commission should conduct a fair investigation.

Earlier, at Palghar's Vivanta Hotel, Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers accused BJP leader Vinod Tawde of distributing currency notes and also had a heated argument with him. After this Vinod Tawde was surrounded by Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers. During this time, heavy police force including DCP Purnima Chougule and Jayant Bajbale was present. In this matter, BJP candidate from Nalasopara Assembly Rajan Naik says that the Election Commission and the police should investigate the hotel, there is nothing there. On the other hand, Maharashtra's Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Kulkarni says that the police reached the spot after receiving information in Nalasopara. The flying squad of the election machinery formed to follow the code of conduct also reached the spot. The flying squad took stock of the premises and also made some seizures. An FIR has been registered under the relevant acts. Whoever violates the model code of conduct, action will be taken against him as per law and rules.
