Palestine was elated after receiving aid amount of 2.5 million dollars, thanked India!
New Delhi. Palestine on Tuesday expressed deep gratitude to India. The Government of India has released the second tranche of financial assistance of $2.5 million to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). With this assistance, India has completed its annual committed contribution of $5 million for the year 2024-25.
Palestinian Embassy expressed gratitude
The Palestinian Embassy issued a statement saying, “We express our gratitude and appreciation to the Government of India for releasing the second tranche of $2.5 million to UNRWA. “This assistance reflects India’s humanitarian approach and its deep commitment to the welfare of Palestinian refugees.”

India appreciated for humanitarian aid
The embassy praised India, saying that India's commitment to provide humanitarian aid and medicines to UNRWA will help the agency meet the needs of Palestinian refugees.
Counter Israel's efforts
Palestine Embassy Charge d'Affaires Abed Elrazegg Abu Jajar described India's contribution as important and said that it is a proof of India's unwavering support towards UNRWA. “This contribution will help counter Israel's efforts to undermine and halt UNRWA's activities in the Palestinian territories,” he said.
India-Palestine historical relations
Recalling the historical relations between India and Palestine, Palestine said that the Palestinian people greatly value India's support. The Embassy expressed hope that India's support will continue until their aspirations for independence and sovereignty are realised.

India has already provided help of 40 million dollars
India's representative office in Palestine on Monday released the second tranche of $2.5 million. Over the years, India has provided financial assistance of $40 million to UNRWA for education, healthcare, relief and social services for Palestinian refugees.
Support of two-state solution
India has long supported the two-state solution to establish an independent, sovereign and viable state in Palestine. This initiative of India has been highly appreciated by the Palestinian leadership and public.
