According to the Meteorological Department, the cold is going to increase further in the coming few days. The mercury was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday night in the capital Delhi. Cold winds continued to blow during the day and the temperature remained at 26.8 degrees Celsius. Earlier, a temperature of 16.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Delhi on Monday night. That means, in just 2 days a decrease of 5 degrees Celsius was recorded in the minimum temperature.

At the same time, the minimum temperature has dropped significantly in most areas of Haryana. Cold has also knocked in Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. Here too a continuous decline in temperature is being recorded. There is news of fog in some parts of Bihar also.
The Meteorological Department has already told that this year there is going to be severe cold due to the effect of La Nina. Under the La Nina effect, the waters of the Pacific Ocean cool down. Its effect is seen in India. Due to La Nina effect, more than average rainfall was also recorded in the monsoon season this year. Earlier due to El Nino effect the sea surface temperature was higher than the land. Due to this, it was not raining much and the cold was also becoming less.
