Congress has played the old tune, will now run a nationwide campaign against EVMs, Congress will run a nationwide campaign against EVMs and demand elections through ballot paper.

New Delhi. After the massive defeat in Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress has again started singing the old tune regarding EVMs. Unable to digest its defeat, Congress this time has decided to open a front against the Election Commission along with EVMs. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has said that his party does not want elections through EVMs and also demanded elections through ballot paper. Mallikarjun Kharge has announced that he will take out a yatra against EVMs and in support of conducting elections through ballot papers.

Speaking at the Constitution Rakshak Abhiyan program organized by the Congress party, National President Mallikarjun Kharge said that just like 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' was carried out, a nationwide campaign will be launched to demand elections through ballot paper. It is clear from this announcement of the National President of Congress that he is not able to digest the results of Maharashtra elections. Earlier, Congress had suffered a major setback in Haryana elections also. The results in Jammu and Kashmir were also not good for Congress. Almost all the exit polls were claiming the formation of Congress government in Haryana, on the contrary, the election results came in favor of BJP. BJP formed government in Haryana with absolute majority.

After this, something similar happened in Maharashtra too, although most of the exit polls here were predicting the formation of the BJP-led Grand Alliance government, but the Congress and its Mahavikas Aghadi alliance were confident of their victory. In Maharashtra, the public has completely rejected Congress and its allies Shiv Sena, UBT and NCP-SCP. While BJP alone won 132 seats, the three parties of Mahavikas Aghadi together could win only 46 seats, out of which Congress got only 16 seats.
