Supreme Court said that DND will remain toll free. The court said that NTBCL was given the task of collecting toll without issuing public tender, which was a wrong decision. Supreme Court said that NTBCL can no longer charge toll on DND. This important route between Delhi and Noida will remain toll free. Earlier, Allahabad High Court had said in the year 2016 that it is wrong for NTBCL to charge toll on DND. After the order of Allahabad High Court, toll collection on DND was stopped. The Supreme Court has also termed the concession given by Noida Authority to NTBCL at that time as wrong. The Supreme Court said that CAG has pointed out the continuously increasing cost of incomplete projects. This put a burden on DND users. The court said that NTBCL was being given benefits forever.

The Supreme Court said that the general public lost several hundred crores of rupees due to the wrongful agreement between NTBCL and Noida Authority. Let us tell you that the people of Noida had opposed the collection of toll on DND. Common people and farmers staged a dharna at DND and termed the continuous toll being taken as wrong. Investigation also revealed that the toll collecting company had taken more money from the people than the cost of DND. After this the matter went to court.
