Snowfall in the mountains, severe cold in the plains, rain alert in Delhi-NCR
New Delhi. Snowfall continues in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. The temperature in these areas has reached below minus degrees Celsius. Snowfall in the mountains is also affecting the plains, where severe cold is being felt.
Weather will change in Delhi-NCR
The weather pattern is going to change in the next 48 hours in many states including Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there may be light rain in Delhi-NCR on Monday. After this the cold may become more intense.
Chances of increasing cold
At present, the effect of cold has increased in Delhi-NCR in the morning and evening, while some relief is being felt due to sunshine during the day. However, after the rain on Monday, the temperature will drop and the cold may increase further.
Temperature on Saturday and Sunday
According to the Meteorological Department, on Saturday the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 22 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature on Sunday is likely to be 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be 22 degrees Celsius.
Cold wave alert in Haryana
It is extremely cold in many districts of Haryana. Cold wave alert has been issued in many areas including Bhiwani, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar and Karnal. Hisar district remains the coldest region of the state.
It will be colder after the rain
The Meteorological Department said that due to the active effect of western disturbance, there may be light rain in Delhi-NCR on Monday. After the rain, there is a possibility of increase in cold and cold wave. Therefore, there is little hope of relief from cold in the next few days.

Caution advised
Weather experts have advised people to remain alert in view of cold and rain. There is a need to especially take care of the elderly and children. To avoid the effects of cold wave, wear warm clothes and go out of the house only when necessary.
