Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the child heroes of the country, paid tribute to the martyrdom of Veer Sahibzadas on their sacrifice day.
New Delhi. On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met and interacted with children award winning children. During this, he also met some disabled children. The children were very happy to find PM Modi among them. Addressing the program organized at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, Modi said, today we are being a part of the celebration of the third Veer Bal Diwas. Three years ago, our government had started celebrating Veer Bal Diwas in the immortal memory of the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh. Now this day has become a festival of national inspiration for crores of countrymen and for the entire country. This day has filled many children and youth of India with indomitable courage.

PM Modi said, today I will also remember the circumstances in which the brave Sahibzadas sacrificed their lives. It is equally important for today's young generation to know this, hence it is important to remember those incidents again and again. That situation of more than 300 years ago, that day of 26th December, when our Sahibzadas sacrificed their lives at a young age. Sahibzadons Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh were young but their courage was sky high. The Sahabzadas rejected every greed of the Mughal Sultanate and endured every atrocities.

The Prime Minister said, every child, every youth who lives for the country is a brave child. This year's Veer Bal Diwas is even more special as it marks the 75th year of the establishment of the Indian Republic and our Constitution. In this 75th year, every citizen of the country is taking inspiration from Veer Sahibzadas to work for the unity and integrity of the nation. The bravery and sacrifice of Sahibzadas lies at the foundation of the strong democracy that India is proud of today. The Constitution teaches us that there is no upper or lower in this country, this policy and inspiration also leads us to the mantra of our Gurus, which emphasizes on the welfare of all. Guru tradition has taught us to see everyone equally and the Constitution inspires us with this idea.
