New Delhi. The statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was unveiled on the banks of Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh at an altitude of 14,300 feet. This huge statue of Shivaji, a symbol of bravery, foresight and steadfast justice, was unveiled on 26 December by Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla SC, SM, VSM, GOC Fire and Fury Corps and Colonel of Maratha Light Infantry. During this time, a large number of soldiers of Fire and Fury Corps and Maratha Light Infantry were present there. This huge statue of Shivaji installed on the banks of Pangong Tso Lake is being seen as a symbol of India's regional dominance.

Pangong is an area on the border (LAC) between India and China located in Ladakh. The western end of Pangong Tso Lake falls in Indian territory while the eastern area is in Tibet controlled by China. Pangog area has been in the headlines many times. There have been many conflicts between the soldiers of India and China on the LAC. It was here in 2017 that there was a clash between the soldiers of India and China. After this, in 2020-21 also there was a huge clash between the soldiers of India and China.

India is strengthening infrastructure in border areas

Recently, an agreement has been reached between China and India under which both the countries have withdrawn their armies in Demchok and Depsang. After this agreement, the tension on LAC has reduced somewhat. However, India is continuously engaged in strengthening the infrastructure in the border areas including Ladakh. In such a situation, this statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji, a symbol of bravery and indomitable courage, will not only boost the morale of the Indian soldiers but will also send a message to China that India is not going to compromise on its sovereignty.
