New Delhi. A major accident has occurred at Kannauj railway station in Uttar Pradesh. Here, the linter of the roof of the station under construction fell, in which many workers are feared to be buried. After the incident, senior administration officials along with Railway Police Force and Kannauj Police have reached there. At present, relief and rescue work is being done at a rapid pace. As soon as information about the incident was received, Minister of State for Social Welfare in the Yogi government, Aseem Arun also reached the spot. He said that from the debris 23 people have been evacuated, out of which 20 people suffered minor injuries and are undergoing treatment. While 3 people are seriously injured and have been referred to Lucknow for treatment. There may be some more laborers buried under the debris who are being searched.

Development work is going on at Kannauj Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Scheme of the Central Government. Meanwhile, the work of laying the linter was being done when this accident happened. As the lantern fell, many workers working there got injured. There was an outcry there. Help of JCB machine is being taken to remove the debris. A laborer working there says that there was an atmosphere of chaos due to the sudden fall of the lantern. He told that at the time of this accident about 40 to 50 laborers were working there.

SDRF team has also been sent to the spot so that the rescue work can be expedited. There is a huge crowd of people present at the spot. Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the accident and talked to the officials. CM Yogi has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. He has also given instructions to the officials for proper treatment of all the injured.
