Prayagraj. Mahakumbh festival has started from January 13 in Prayagraj, UP. The first bath of Makar Sankranti has also been completed on 14th January. Now Mauni Amavasya bath is on 29th January. Prayagraj administration and UP government believe that on the bathing festival of Mauni Amavasya, 10 crore devotees can come to Prayagraj Mahakumbh to take bath. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed the Prayagraj fair administration and police to start preparations from now on for the bathing festival of Mauni Amavasya. Devotees should not face any problem in any way.

Even on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, saints and Naga Sadhus of various Akharas will take a dip at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. On Makar Sankranti, the administration had fixed a time of 40-40 minutes for bathing in the Akharas. All the Akharas were bathed within the time limit. More than 3.50 crore devotees took a dip in the Mahakumbh on Makar Sankranti. This figure is likely to increase further on Mauni Amavasya. According to the information so far, about 7 crore devotees have taken bath in Prayagraj since the beginning of Mahakumbh. Lakhs of devotees are reaching Prayagraj every day.

After Mauni Amavasya, there will be 3 more days of royal bathing in the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Shahi Snan will take place on Vasant Panchami on 3rd February. After this, the last royal bath will take place in Prayagraj Mahakumbh on the festival of Maghi Purnima on 12th February and then on the festival of Mahashivratri on 26th February. Mahakumbh will end on 26th February itself. This time Mahakumbh is taking place in Prayagraj after 144 years. At the same time, Ardh Kumbh occurs every 6 years and Purna Kumbh occurs every 12 years. Mahakumbh happens only in Prayagraj. Other Kumbhs also take place in Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik.
