Modi Cabinet approved the formation of 8th Pay Commission, pensioners along with government employees will also be benefited.
New Delhi. Giving a big gift to the government employees, the Modi government at the Center has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. This decision was approved in the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. Government employees were demanding 8th Pay Commission for a long time. For this, a commission will soon be formed and the chairman and members of the commission will also be elected. It is expected that the government will implement the 8th Pay Commission from next year 2026. Along with government employees, pensioners will also benefit from this.

Earlier, the 7th Pay Commission was implemented on January 1, 2016. Then about 1 crore government employees and pensioners were benefited from it. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted on 28 February 2014 during the tenure of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Commission had submitted the suggestions and recommendations related to the 7th Pay Commission to the Central Government in November 2015. After this, the government implemented it on January 1, 2016. Since the Pay Commission is implemented every ten years, it is expected that the Modi government can implement the 8th Pay Commission from January 1, 2026.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about the decisions of Narendra Modi cabinet. He said that along with the approval of the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, the Union Cabinet has also approved the third launch pad in Sriharikota. It will be built in a very modern manner and will prove helpful for the next generation launch vehicle. The specialty of this launch pad will be that after laying the rocket on it, it can be assembled and made to stand straight back. It will cost Rs 3985 crore to build it.
