Fire broke out in Prayagraj Mahakumbh due to cylinder explosion, 4 fire engines brought it under control in 15 minutes, no casualties


New Delhi. A sudden fire incident occurred in the Mahakumbh Mela area on Thursday morning, causing chaos in the area. The fire was so fierce that a plume of smoke was visible from a distance. There was no casualty in the incident, and a major accident was averted due to the prompt action of the administration. As soon as the information was received, the fire department and SDRF team reached the spot. Four fire engines brought the fire under control within just 15-20 minutes. While extinguishing the fire, the administration evacuated the surrounding camps for security reasons.

20 to 25 tents in the grip of fire

The fire broke out near the Old GT Road crossing on the border of Sector 19 and Sector 5, which started from Vivekananda Camp. Due to the fire, about 20-25 tents were burnt to ashes. According to the fire department, the cause of the fire is probably said to be an electrical short circuit or flying spark. The fire flared up further due to the blast of 2-3 cylinders kept in the camps, but with the promptness of the fire department and the help of SDRF, the situation was controlled. While extinguishing the fire, the administration ensured that no devotee was harmed.

The local administration has started investigating the incident. Instructions have been given to seal the affected area and conduct a security check. Due to the huge crowd in Mahakumbh and rising temperature, security measures were already tightened in the area, due to which this incident could be controlled on time. Officials have appealed to the devotees to remain calm and follow the directions issued by the administration. Follow the instructions.
