Karnataka High Court judge said, Brahmins have played an important role in making the Constitution.
New Delhi. Karnataka High Court Judge Krishna S Dixit says that Brahmins have made an important contribution in the making of the Constitution. Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the All Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha, Justice Dixit said that out of the seven members of the Constitution drafting committee, three were Brahmins. Krishnaswami Iyer, N. Gopalaswami Iyengar and B. N. Rao were the three Brahmins who played a very important role in the making of the country's constitution. Justice Dixit told that Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar himself had said that if B. N. If Rao had not drafted the Constitution, it would have taken another 25 years to be made.
In the two-day Brahmin conference 'Vishwamitra' organized on January 18-19, Justice Dixit said that Brahmins should not be linked to caste but to varna. He said that Ved Vyas, who composed the Vedas, was the son of a fisherman, while Maharishi Valmiki, who wrote the Ramayana, the holy scripture of Hindus, belonged to either a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe, yet the Brahmins looked down on him. Brahmins have always worshiped Maharishi Ved Vyas and Maharishi Valmiki like God. He said that when we talk about Brahmins, it is a matter of pride because it was Brahmins who gave the philosophy of Dvaita, Advaita, Vishishta Advaita and Shuddha Advaita.
Justice Dixit said that Brahmins have also contributed in maintaining the unity of the country. He said that Kalhan, a Brahmin, composed Rajtarangini. Not only this, Allama Iqbal who had written 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha' was also a Brahmin. Brahmin PV Kane, who received Bharat Ratna, has written Dharmashastra in seven volumes. In this book he has also mentioned the contribution of non-Brahmins.
