New Delhi. Two Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with the police team in Bokaro, Jharkhand. Police recovered modern weapons like AK 47 and INSAS rifle from these Naxalites. A woman Naxalite is also among those who died. The police team is busy identifying the two killed. There is a possibility that some more Naxalites may be hiding there. At present, the operation of security forces against Naxalites is going on and a search operation is being conducted in the area. A joint team of Jharkhand Police and 209 Cobra has carried out this operation.
According to the information received, security forces received input about the presence of Naxalites in the forest near Bansi village falling in Penk Narayanpur police station area under Nawadih block of Bokaro district. After this, around 5 am, a joint team of Jharkhand Police and 209 Cobra launched a search operation to catch the Naxalites. As soon as the Naxalites saw the police team, they started firing. In response, the police team also opened fire. Two Naxalites were killed in this encounter while some other Naxalites managed to escape after getting the opportunity. Police is trying to catch the escaped Naxalites.
Earlier yesterday, in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh, security forces had killed 14 Naxalites while carrying out a major operation. Among these Naxalites, Naxalite Jairam alias Chalapathi, carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore, has also been killed. Let us tell you that the Central Government has given a free hand to the security forces to root out Naxalism. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken the initiative to completely eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 2026. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh have been freed from the Naxalite problem to a great extent.
