New Delhi. Some major decisions related to agriculture and health were taken in the Narendra Modi cabinet meeting today. The Minimum Support Price (MSP) of jute has been increased, which will directly benefit about 40 lakh families of jute farmers. Apart from this, the decision to continue the National Health Mission for the next 5 years has also been taken in the Union Cabinet meeting. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Union Minister Piyush Goyal attended the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. Union Minister Piyush Goyal gave information regarding the Union Cabinet meeting and the decisions taken in it. He said that in order to benefit jute farmers, the Central Government has decided to increase the MSP of raw jute by 6 percent for the year 2025-26. With this decision taken with the aim of increasing the consumption of jute, now jute raw material will be purchased at the price of Rs 5650 per quintal. Due to this, jute farmers will get a direct benefit of Rs 315 per quintal. Jute is cultivated on a large scale in Bihar, Bengal and Assam.
Along with this, a decision has also been taken in the meeting to continue the National Health Mission, which proved to be very helpful during the Corona period, for the next 5 years. Let us tell you that the objective of the National Health Mission is to provide better health services to the people in rural and urban areas and to make the government schemes related to health and family welfare available to the people. Earlier, in the cabinet meeting held on January 16, giving a gift to the government employees, the formation of the 8th Pay Commission was approved.
