Kota IG expressed concern over increasing incidents of suicide among students, gave suggestions to parents and coaching centers.

New Delhi. Kota IG Ravidutt Gaur has expressed concern over the increasing incidents of suicide by students preparing for competitive examinations. Along with parents, he has also given some suggestions to coaching institutes and teachers. To stop these incidents, he has proposed to hold a meeting with coaching operators, form a selection committee, conduct separate counseling of students, not put pressure on students by parents and provide financial assistance to weaker students.

IG Ravidutt Gaur says that relief from stress is a big question. First of all, it should be seen whether the child who is taking admission in coaching actually wants to go in that field or not. Parents should take this decision after talking to their children. After that, the performance of the child who comes to Kota for coaching should be seen. If there is a child whose performance is not good, coaching centers and teachers should arrange separate classes for him. Even after this, if the report of any student is not good, then his parents should be called and talked to them and such children should be sent to some other field. If needed, help in this regard can also be taken from a psychologist.

The IG said that generally only those children commit suicide who are either unable to study or have been forcibly sent there. Those who stay here and do coaching should talk openly to their teachers. Teachers should form small groups of children and have one-to-one personal communication with them so that apart from studies, teachers are also aware about the personal life of the students. Let us tell you that two days ago, a boy and a girl student doing coaching in Kota have committed suicide. This is the sixth incident of suicide by a student in the last 22 days.
