New Delhi. A decision has been taken to ban liquor in 17 cities of Madhya Pradesh including Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. Most of the cities where liquor shops will be closed are religious cities. This decision was stamped after discussing liquor ban in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's cabinet meeting. CM Mohan Yadav said that in the first phase, liquor shops will be closed in the first phase in connection with the state to go ahead towards prohibition. Not only this, shops that are closed will not be shifted to another place.

Liquor sales will be closed in these cities
CM said that liquor shops will be closed in one municipal corporation, 6 municipalities, 6 municipal councils and 6 gram panchayats. Ujjain Municipal Corporation, Maihar Municipality, Datia Municipality, Panna Municipality, Mandla Municipality, Multai Municipality, Mandsaur Municipality, Orchha Municipal Council, Chitrakoot Municipal Council, Amarkantak Municipal Council, Maheshwar Municipal Council, Omkareshwar Municipal Council, Mandleshwar Nagar Liquor shops will be closed in the council. The Gram Panchayat includes Salkanpur, Bandakpur, Kundalpur, Barman Kala, Linga and Barman Khurd where liquor shops will remain closed. At the same time, the policy that is already implemented on liquor sale up to 5 kilometers from both banks of Maa Narmada will continue further.
