Important meeting between Rajnath Singh and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov on military and military-technical cooperation
New Delhi. Before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s arrival in India, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. The 22nd India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission Ministerial Meeting focused on military and military technical cooperation. Before this meeting, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov was also given the Tri-Service Guard of Honor at the Manekshaw Center in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

During the meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, welcoming his Russian counterpart and the accompanying delegation, said, I thank all of you very much for coming all the way to India to discuss and promote bilateral defense cooperation between our countries. Rajnath said, Russia is a time tested, special privileged and strategic partner of India. Our bilateral defense cooperation has grown significantly since the signing of the Declaration of India-Russia Strategic Partnership in 2000.

Rajnath further said, it is a good thing that despite geopolitical uncertainty, India-Russia defense cooperation is progressing at a good pace and the result-based talks between our armed forces personnel and experts have maintained the momentum of our defense partnership. Rajnath Singh said that we were also eagerly waiting for the visit of the President of the Russian Federation His Excellency Vladimir Putin to India for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, which was completed today. I believe that this Leaders’ Summit will further strengthen the special and privileged partnership between our two countries.
