Prayagraj. Allahabad High Court on Wednesday transferred the case going on in Rae Bareli regarding the citizenship of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to Lucknow court. Now MP/MLA court in Lucknow will hear the citizenship case of Rahul Gandhi. Petitioner S. in the bench of Justice Brijraj Singh of Allahabad High Court. Vignesh Shishir had filed a petition and appealed to transfer the case from Rae Bareli. After hearing Shishir’s petition, Allahabad High Court ordered transfer of the case.

S. Vignesh Shishir has filed a case questioning Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship. He is also a BJP worker. Till now this case was being heard in the special MP/MLA court of Rae Bareli. Vignesh Shishir had said in the petition filed in Allahabad High Court that the case against Rahul Gandhi should be transferred to Lucknow. Because his life is in danger in Rae Bareli. Vignesh had also said that due to the local situation in Rae Bareli, a fair hearing is not taking place. Actually, Rahul Gandhi is an MP from Rae Bareli. Now Rahul Gandhi will have to come to Lucknow court for the hearing of Vignesh’s case.

S. Vignesh Shishir has said in his case that Rahul Gandhi is a citizen of Britain. India does not give dual citizenship. Shishir says that for this reason Rahul Gandhi cannot get Indian citizenship. His MP should also be abolished. Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship case also went on for a long time in Allahabad High Court. The court had sought information about Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship from the Union Home Ministry, but for a long time the Home Ministry told the court that information about Rahul Gandhi had been sought from the British government. Later Vignesh Shishir filed a complaint in Rae Bareli court on Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship. Now this case will be heard in Lucknow.
