West Bengal Draft Voter List: In West Bengal SIR, less names were cut in Muslim dominated areas and maximum names were cut in Hindi speaking and Matua dominated areas, know the benefit or loss to Mamata Banerjee and BJP from this?

Kolkata. Election Commission has released the draft voter list after SIR in West Bengal. According to the draft voter list of the Election Commission, now the names of 7.08 crore voters are left in West Bengal. Whereas, before SIR, the number of voters in West Bengal was 7.66 crore. That means names of more than 58 lakh voters have been deleted in West Bengal. Now The Indian Express newspaper has reported that the maximum number of names of Hindi speaking and Matua voters have been deleted in West Bengal. Whereas, names of fewer voters have been deleted in Muslim dominated areas of West Bengal.

According to the draft voter list of the Election Commission, maximum number of names have been deleted in Kolkata and adjoining Hindi speaking voter dominated areas. Names of 25.92 percent voters have been deleted in Kolkata North. In Kolkata South, names of 23.82 percent voters are not in the draft list. Apart from this, names of 36.66 percent voters in Hindi speaking majority Jorasanko, 35.45 percent in Chowringhee, 21.55 percent in Mamata Banerjee’s Bhawanipur seat, 26.09 percent in Kolkata Port, 19.01 percent in Barrackpore, 14.71 percent in Asansol North and 13.68 percent in Asansol South have been removed. All these have been Hindi speaking dominated areas.

Apart from this, after SIR, the Election Commission has also deleted the names of many voters in Matua dominated Kasba and Sonarpur South of South 24 Parganas. Names of 17.95 percent voters in Kasba and 11.29 percent voters in Sonarpur South have been deleted. Whereas, in Bonagaon North of North 24 Parganas, names of 9.71 percent voters have been deleted. The Hindi speaking and Matua communities settled in West Bengal are considered the core voters of BJP. The question is, will this benefit Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and harm BJP in the assembly elections to be held in West Bengal next year? Mamata Banerjee’s TMC has been forming the government in West Bengal for three times. Mamata Banerjee intends to form the government again by winning the next West Bengal Assembly elections. At the same time, this time PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have given the task to their leaders and workers to uproot Mamata’s TMC from West Bengal.
