Pilot of Air India Express allegedly beats passenger at Delhi Airport
New Delhi. There have been several incidents of fighting between passengers and airline staff in the past. In the latest case, an off-duty pilot of Air India Express at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has been accused of assaulting a passenger. This incident happened at Terminal-1 of the airport. The passenger’s face became drenched in blood due to the pilot’s attack. The name of the victim passenger is Ankit Diwan. Apart from his wife, Ankit was going to travel by SpiceJet flight with his 7 and 4 year old daughters. There was a stroller of a small girl, due to which the airport staff had also given permission to Ankit to use the special security line.

According to Ankit, some staff members were also moving forward in that special line. When he inquired about this matter, Air India Express pilot Captain Virendra Sejwal got angry. There was an argument between Ankit and Captain Virendra Sejwal. Ankit alleges that the pilot beat him. Ankit shared a photo of his face with blood on his face in a post on X and wrote that his 7 year old daughter is shocked to see all this. Ankit also alleges that he was forced to write a letter. In which he was made to write that he will not pursue the matter further. Ankit was forced to write a letter because if he missed his flight, he would have lost holiday bookings worth more than Rs 1 lakh.

Ankit tagged Delhi Police and wrote that can’t he file a complaint after returning, will the CCTV footage disappear? Air India Express has responded to Ankit’s post. Air India Express has said that it is very sad to know about the incident that happened at Delhi Airport. In which our employee was involved. Airlines have said that pilot Captain Virendra Sejwal was traveling with another airline. Air India Express has said that such behavior is strongly condemned and we apologize. Also, Captain Sejwal has been removed from duty and investigation is being done. The airline has said that it will provide full cooperation to the concerned authorities for a fair investigation.
