Yogi said that there has been no death due to codeine cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh. CM said, there are stockists and wholesalers of codeine cough syrup in UP, it is not produced here. The cases of death due to codeine cough syrup which have been reported in other states were made in Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister said that if we go deeper into this matter, the name of some leader or the other who is associated with the Samajwadi Party comes up in this matter. Even the illegal transaction of money that has taken place in this case has also taken place through the account of an official of SP Lohia Vahini. STF is investigating this matter.

Yogi said that the license of the biggest wholesaler of codeine cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh, who was first caught by ATF, was issued in 2016 during the SP government. In this case, action will be taken under NDPS, Uttar Pradesh government has won this case by fighting in the court.
