Indian Army officers and soldiers will no longer be able to post share or like any content on Instagram.
New Delhi. The Indian Army has changed its policy regarding the use of social media by its officers and soldiers. According to the new policy of the Indian Army, Army officers and soldiers will no longer be able to post any post on the social media platform Instagram nor will they be able to like or share any post. Under the new policy of the Indian Army, officers and soldiers will be able to use Instagram only for monitoring and viewing its content.

Earlier, the Indian Army had set rules for the use of digital platforms by soldiers and officers. Army officers and soldiers were banned from using digital platforms for military work. Even the use of messaging platforms like WhatsApp for military purposes was stopped. The old rules related to digital platforms from the Indian Army will also remain applicable. Now Instagram has also been brought under the ambit of the new rule. The media has quoted sources as saying that the Indian Army has sent the new policy to all units and departments.

It is being told that the Indian Army wants its officers and soldiers to keep an eye on the content available on social media platforms. So that they can also get the necessary information. Apart from this, they will also be able to identify misleading content against the army. At the same time, due to not being able to post on Instagram, officers and soldiers of the Indian Army will also be able to avoid being honey-trapped by spies of enemy countries. Many such incidents have happened before, when army soldiers were honey-trapped by spies of the enemy country through social media. Spies of enemy countries try to get confidential army information from the soldiers by honey trap. Now soldiers and officers have been asked to inform their superiors about fake and misleading content present on social media.
