On Veer Bal Diwas, PM Narendra Modi mentioned many things including the abilities of Gen Z, Gen Alpha, the sacrifice of Sahibzadas, Macaulay’s mentality of slavery.
New Delhi. Today, on the occasion of Brave Children’s Day, PM Narendra Modi met and talked to the brave children honored with the National Children’s Award. After this Modi addressed the program organized at Bharat Mandapam. Modi said, my young India is present here. In a way, you all are Gen Z, also Gen Alpha. Only your generation will take India to the goal of developed India. I see and understand the ability of Gen Z, your confidence and hence trust you a lot. It is said here that even if a small child speaks something wise, it should be accepted. That means no one is younger by age and no one is older either.

Modi said, this day of Veer Bal Diwas is a day full of emotion and reverence. Sahibzada Ajit Singh, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh had to face the biggest power of that time at a young age. That fight was between the basic ideas of India and religious fanaticism, between truth versus untruth. On one side of that fight was the tenth Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh and on the other side was the cruel Aurangzeb. Our Sahibzade was still young in age at that time but Aurangzeb did not care about his cruelty. He knew that if he had to scare the people of India and convert them, he would have to break their morale and that is why he targeted the Sahibzadas. The Mughals forgot that our Guru was the embodiment of sacrifice. The brave Sahibzadas carried forward that legacy and despite the entire Mughal army being against them, none of the four Sahibzadas wavered. Sahibzade, inspired by the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur, never feared the atrocities of the Mughals.

The Prime Minister further said, the story of the sacrifice of Sahibzadas should have been on the lips of everyone in the country but unfortunately, even after independence, the mentality of slavery is dominant in the country. The country was not allowed to free itself from the mentality of slavery whose seeds were sown by the British politician Macaulay in 1835, even after independence. Therefore, even after independence, attempts were made to suppress such truths in the country for decades. But now India has decided that freedom from the mentality of slavery will be water. Now the memories of the sacrifices and bravery of we Indians will not be suppressed, now the heroes and heroines of the country will not be marginalized. Therefore, we are celebrating Veer Bal Diwas with full enthusiasm. In the coming ten years, we will free the country from the mentality of slavery. This should be the resolve of 140 crore countrymen.
