Due to incidents of violence Hindus of Bangladesh seek refuge in India

New Delhi. Hindus are continuously being targeted in Bangladesh. In recent times, fundamentalists have beaten Dipu Chandra Das and Amrit Mandal to death. After this, Hindus are very scared in Bangladesh. According to The Times of Newspaper, the Hindus of Bangladesh want India to open its border for them and take a decision to grant them asylum. The return of Tariq Rahman, son of former PM Khaleda Zia, to Bangladesh has further increased the concern among the Hindu community there.

According to The Times of India, he spoke to many Hindus in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chittagong etc. in Bangladesh. These Hindus told the newspaper that the people of the community living in Bangladesh are scared. The murder of Deepu and Amrit has shaken him to his core. The Hindu community is even more worried due to Tariq Rahman’s return to Bangladesh. The reason for this is that Tariq Rehman’s attitude towards India has not been good. It is being said about Tariq Rahman that his Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) may win the parliamentary elections to be held in February.

Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh collapsed on 5 August 2024. After this, an interim government was formed there under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus. Atrocities against Hindus started in Bangladesh after Mohammad Yunus assumed power. Fundamentalists are continuously making statements about killing Hindus. The way the mob took the lives of Dipu Chandra Das and Amrit Mandal, a similar scene was seen even after the fall of Hasina government. The special thing is that the interim government of Mohammad Yunus seems to be standing with the fundamentalists in Bangladesh. Jamaat-e-Islami, which was banned by Sheikh Hasina, was abolished by the Yunus-led interim government of Bangladesh. Apart from this, many fundamentalist leaders have also been released from the jails of Bangladesh.
