68th Foundation Day Of DRDO: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised the decisive role of DRDO weapons during Operation Sindoor.

New Delhi. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reached DRDO Headquarters on the occasion of the 68th Foundation Day of Defense Research and Development Organisation. During this he praised DRDO scientists. The Defense Minister said that the weapon systems developed by DRDO played a decisive role during Operation Sindoor, which is a testament to the organization’s professionalism and commitment towards protecting national interests. Along with this, the Defense Minister has expressed confidence that DRDO will soon establish ‘Sudarshan Chakra’. The main objective of this project is to provide air defense cover to important establishments of the country in the coming decade.

Rajnath Singh praised DRDO for being a confidence builder along with technology development. Acknowledging DRDO’s collaboration with the private sector, the Union Defense Minister said that the increased engagement with industry, academia and startups has led to the creation of an integrated defense ecosystem. He said, DRDO has continuously improved its systems, processes and functioning. From procurement to project management, engagement with industry to collaboration with startups and MSMEs, there are visible efforts being made by DRDO to make work easier, faster and more reliable.

The Defense Minister called upon DRDO to keep moving forward in the rapidly evolving technological environment and keep developing relevant products as per the changing times. He urged the organization to focus on innovation and identify more areas that could increase private sector participation. Appreciating the efforts being made by DRDO towards deep technology and next generation technologies, he said that the progress in this direction will not only enhance the capabilities of the nation but will also strengthen the defense mechanism.
