New Delhi. Modi government has made singing or playing of Vande Mataram mandatory in all special government programs on completion of 150 years. Now in such programs six parts of Vande Mataram will be sung or played. A period of 3 minutes 10 seconds has been fixed for this. According to the new rule issued by the Home Ministry, presentation of Vande Mataram has been made mandatory before and after the hoisting of the national flag, arrival and departure of the President and Governors and address to the nation.

Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, who received the title of Rishi, wrote the song Vande Mataram. It was also given a place in his novel Anand Math. According to the new rules of the Home Ministry, the people present will have to stand during the singing and playing of Vande Mataram. The ministry has also said that every day should start with the singing of the national anthem in schools across the country. Under the rules, Vande Mataram will be sung or played at formal state functions. It will also be sung or played in government honor ceremonies. Vande Mataram will be sung or played when the national flag is taken in the parade. On any other occasion also, Vande Mataram will be sung or played under special orders. Since everyone does not remember the six verses of Vande Mataram, its written copy will also be given on the said occasions.
