New Delhi. A trade deal has been concluded between America and India just a few days ago. The fact sheet of this deal has been recently amended by America. Now the Indian Foreign Ministry has clarified the situation regarding this. Responding to questions from journalists, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India and the United States have mutually amended the fact sheet after mutual consent. This is the result of mutual understanding between the two countries.

Jaiswal said that a joint statement on the interim agreement on this trade deal was agreed upon. This statement was issued on February 7, 2026. This Joint Statement remains the basis of our mutual understanding on this matter. Let us tell you that in the amendment made in the fact sheet, America has removed agricultural products and pulses from the list of products purchased from India.

What did Randhir Jaiswal say on Bangladesh elections?

On a question regarding the elections held in Bangladesh today, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, we should wait for the results of the elections to know what kind of mandate has come and after that we will look at the issues there. On elections, our view is that we want free, fair, inclusive and credible elections in Bangladesh.

UN report related to Red Fort explosion

Regarding the UN report highlighting the role of Jaish-e-Mohammed in the Red Fort blast in Delhi, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, that report is publicly available and can be viewed online. This was the 37th report of the Analytical and Supportive Sanctions Monitoring Group, published on 4 February 2026. We note that the United Nations has taken into account India’s concerns regarding cross-border terrorism and strengthening the global fight against terrorism.
