New Delhi. Samajwadi Party (SP) spokesperson Manoj Yadav has been arrested by Barabanki police. An FIR was registered against him in Safdarganj police station of Barabanki on February 11 on charges of threatening and using caste related words, in this case the police has taken action against him. Earlier, Manoj Yadav’s wife had lodged a missing report at Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow. Actually, Manoj Yadav had left home yesterday evening to attend a marriage function but he did not reach home till late night, his phone was also not working, after which his wife approached the police and submitted an application.

Immediately after the arrest of Manoj Yadav, the police took him to Baragaon Community Health Center in Barabanki and got him compulsory medical examination. Currently, preparations are underway to present him in the court. Manoj Yadav is originally a resident of village Bhagolapurwa of Barabanki. It is also being claimed in some media reports that Manoj Yadav was caught by STF and then taken into custody by Barabanki police.

Earlier, while sharing the application given by Manoj Yadav’s wife at Gomti Nagar police station, Samajwadi Party had written on social media that Samajwadi Party’s TV panelist Manoj Yadav is missing since last night. This is a very worrying and serious matter. The police should take the matter seriously and immediately speed up the investigation. No untoward incident should happen to them. The news of the arrest of SP spokesperson has created a stir in the political circles of the state. Samajwadi Party is demanding the immediate release of leader Manoj Yadav. SP leaders accused the UP government of dictatorship and said that the police is working at the behest of the government.
