New Delhi. Elections have been announced for 37 Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant in 10 states of the country in April. Rajya Sabha elections are to be held in the states of Bihar, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Assam and Himachal Pradesh. According to the Election Commission, notification for Rajya Sabha elections in these states will be issued on 26 February 2026. March 5 is the last date for filing nominations. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 6, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 9. Voting will take place on March 16 from 9 am to 4 pm and then counting will begin at 5 pm on the same day. The last date to complete the election process has been kept as March 20.
