Now No Mugs In Train Toilets: Steel mugs tied with chains will no longer be seen in train toilets, Railways has made new arrangements for cleaning.
New Delhi. It is not possible that you have traveled in a train and not seen a mug tied with a chain in the toilet! Steel mugs are seen in the toilets of most railway trains. Which is tied with a chain to protect it from thieves. Now Railways has decided that you will not see these steel mugs tied to chains in the toilets of all classes of trains. Navbharat Times newspaper has quoted senior railway officials as saying that once upon a time there were no mugs in the train toilets. At that time only one tap was installed there. When AC coaches started being installed in trains, steel mugs started being kept in their toilets. When the Railways noticed that mugs started being stolen from train toilets, they started being tied to chains.
The newspaper has reported that now the Railway Ministry has instructed all the zones of the Railways to completely remove the mugs attached to the chains from the toilets of the trains. In place of these, jet sprays are now being installed in all the toilets of trains. In the coming few months, steel mugs will be removed from the toilets of all class coaches of all trains and jet spray will be installed there. The work of installing jet spray in all the trains has also started. According to the newspaper, first of all Northern Railways ran a pilot project of removing mugs from the toilets of trains and installing jet sprays. Now the work of installing jet spray in trains running in other zones of the Railways is also going on. First, mugs will be removed from the toilets of 10 trains of each zone. After which other trains will be numbered.

Railway officials told the newspaper that removing the mugs would eliminate the problem of water logging in the toilets of trains. Due to this, cleanliness there will also be better. Earlier, the mugs in the train toilet were kept at the bottom. When people used the toilet in a fast moving train and filled water in the mugs, due to the hesitation, the water in the mugs kept falling on the toilet floor. There was mud there due to this water. When other people went to the toilet, the mud and dirt from there would spread all over the coach floor. Apart from this, due to continuous falling of water, the toilet floor also often gets holes. Now by applying jet spray this problem of water flowing will be eliminated. According to officers, people traveling in trains are also in favor of jet spray.
