New Delhi. Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar has been elected the national president of NCP. In the party’s national executive meeting held today, working president Praful Patel proposed the name of Sunetra Pawar, on which everyone unanimously agreed. After the death of Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28, his wife Sunetra Pawar has now completely taken over his place. Sunetra was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister on January 31 and now the command of the party has also come into her hands.
After the death of Ajit Pawar, the party faced a leadership crisis. In such a situation, along with Sunetra Pawar, both the sons of Ajit Pawar were also being considered as the political successors of Ajit Pawar. However, some senior leaders of the party had said that only on the name of Sunetra Pawar, a consensus can be formed in the party without opposition and this happened. Let us tell you that earlier there was a possibility that perhaps both the factions of NCP would merge and Sharad Pawar would once again take charge of the entire party.
