New Delhi. Iran has expressed gratitude to India for giving permission to dock its warship Iris Lavan in Kochi port. Speaking to news agency ANI, Iranian Ambassador to India Mohammad Fathali said, Iranian naval ship, Iris Lavan, has arrived at Kochi port in India for technical and logistics related arrangements. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of India and the local authorities for their cooperation and humanitarian approach in helping the ship reach port and providing assistance to the crew. The excellent coordination and cooperation of the Indian authorities in these difficult circumstances clearly reflects the long-standing friendly relations between our two countries.
We express our gratitude to the Government of India and the public for their valuable support and cooperation. We are confident that the historical and constructive relations between Tehran and New Delhi will continue to grow and strengthen in the future. Regarding the Iris Dena incident, Iran’s ambassador said that Iran is monitoring the condition of the crew members and investigating various aspects of the incident.
