How LPG Is Produced And Why There Is No Big Reserve In Hindi: How LPG Is Produced And Why There Is No Big Reserve In India?, Know Here
New Delhi. Due to the Iran War, the rumor gained momentum that there could be a shortage of LPG. Due to which, at many places, long queues of people are forming at the LPG supply dealers carrying cylinders. Whereas, the reality is that LPG is being supplied within three days of booking. Whereas, due to the crisis caused by the Iran war, the government has also fixed the quota for commercial LPG. By issuing ESMA, action is being taken against black marketers of LPG cylinders. Dozens of LPG cylinders have been recovered at many places from UP to Maharashtra and South India.
LPG is produced during refining of crude oil. Refining crude oil yields petrol, diesel, aircraft turbine fuel (ATF), naphtha and bitumen. Apart from this, propane and butane gases are also produced during refining of crude oil. Cooking gas is made by mixing propane and butane gas at very low temperatures and high pressure. It costs a lot of money to make containers that can handle very low temperatures and pressures. As a result, most of the countries in the world including India have reserves of crude oil, but no country has a large reserve of LPG. After the LPG crisis caused by the Iran war, perhaps the government can now take some steps to create LPG reserves.

India has reserves of about 80 days of crude oil and finished petrol and diesel, but this is not the case with LPG. International Energy Agency (IEA) figures show that India has reserves of only 1.40 lakh tonnes of LPG. Which is equal to two days’ consumption. Every year 31 million tonnes of LPG is consumed in India. India imports 90 percent of it. Most of the LPG imports also come from Gulf countries. There is a rush for LPG cylinders at many places due to the closure of Hormuz by Iran and rumors of shortage. Whereas, the government is repeatedly saying that there is no shortage. The situation has become like this due to booking by 75 lakh consumers every day instead of 55 lakh.
