New Delhi. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has emphasized on India being self-reliant in drone manufacturing. Referring to the war between Russia and Ukraine and the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, he said that we can clearly see that drones and counter drone technology will play a big role in the future war. In view of this, it is necessary for India’s defense preparedness and strategic autonomy that India becomes completely self-reliant in drone manufacturing. Today, there is a need to create such a drone manufacturing ecosystem in India in which we are completely self-reliant.

Addressing the National Defense Industry Conference, Rajnath Singh said that this self-reliance is necessary not only at the product level but also at the component level. That means, from the structure of the drone to the software, engine and batteries, everything was made in India. He told all the defense producers that the country needs all of you in this work. You will receive every kind of support from the government. We all have to work together in mission mode so that India becomes the global hub of indigenous drone manufacturing in the next few years.

Rajnath Singh further said, our small and medium industries are moving forward with new thinking and new technology and are playing an important role in making the country self-reliant. Sometimes big change starts with a small thought and small effort. Therefore, those who are working in their respective fields, believe that your small beginning today can turn into big success tomorrow. He said that small and medium industries, i.e. MSMEs are the backbone of our economy. Therefore, different policies and schemes were made to promote this sector. Today, when we are talking about advanced manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence and new technologies, MSMEs still emerge as an important partner in this process of transformation.
