PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the cold storage incident in Prayagraj and announced compensation.
New Delhi. Four laborers died while 12 others were injured after the wall of a cold store collapsed in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This cold storage is located in Phaphamau and is said to belong to Ansar Ahmed, who was a minister in the SP government. After the accident, ammonia gas started leaking in the cold storage. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police administration and fire brigade team reached the spot and started rescue operations. NDRF and SDRF teams also reached there and took charge.

Due to leakage of ammonia gas, people were evacuated to a safe place. Taking cognizance of this accident, PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath have announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured. It is being told that the cold storage is in a very dilapidated condition and this is the reason why this accident happened. PM Modi said that in this difficult time, my condolences are with the affected people and their families. May God bless the injured as soon as possible. The families of each deceased will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF and the injured will be given Rs 50,000.

While expressing condolences on this incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the loss of life in the accident in the cold storage of Prayagraj district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. Instructions have been given to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those who died in this accident and the district administration officials have been instructed to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment. It is a prayer to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense sorrow and speedy recovery to the injured.
